Cedarbrook Athletics

Welcome to Cedabrook Athletics!  We have a brand new website through Big Teams that will provide you with all the important sports information that you need. This includes:  Athletic Director Updates, Sign Up Instructions, Seasonal Interest Forms, PIAA Physicals, Schedules and more. Here you can sign up to GET ALERTS for your specific sport too!   Just click on the tab on the left.  

Sports Sign-Up Instructions | In order to try-out for Cedarbrook sports teams, students must submit a completed PIAA sports physical and sign up using the interest form below. A new interest form will be posted before each sports season. A sports physical is not the same as the regular physical/well check. Sports physicals for the 2024-2025 school year are valid if completed after May 31, 2024. Sports physicals may be scanned and emailed to Mr. Van Ooyen and Mr. Nestor or dropped off at Cedarbrook’s main office. Section 6 of the sports physical must be completed by the student’s doctor. Sections 1 - 5 must be completed by the student and their guardian.

Eligibility for Participation

Cedarbrook Athletics upholds high academic and behavioral expectations for student-athletes.

  • Academic Eligibility: Student-athletes are expected to attend all classes and maintain established academic standards for participation on sports teams (No “F’s” and no more than one “D”). Failure to uphold these academic standards will result in probation and possible suspension from athletic activities.
  • Behavior Expectations: Student-athletes are expected to follow the “Wildcat Way” — demonstrating the values of Respect, Responsibility, Outreach, Achievement, and Resiliency.

 

Mandatory Sports Physical

In order to attend fall sports tryouts, practices or games, students must have Sections 1-7 of the PIAA Pre-participation Sports Physical completed. A licensed doctor or nurse practitioner must sign Section 7. Scan/photograph each page of the completed form and email them to Cedarbrook co-Athletic Directors Chris Nestor and Mark Van Ooyen. Please note that the completion and submission of the PIAA Sports Physical is in addition to any required school health screenings. 

Cedarbrook Wildcats are expected to follow the “Wildcat Way.” This means that, on and off the field, Cedarbrook student-athletes Respect and R.O.A.R! All Cedarbrook student-athletes are expected to demonstrate the following values:

 

Respect

Treat all teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials with dignity, abiding by the established rules of play.

Responsibility

Attend all practices and games on time. Ensure academics are prioritized over participation on sports teams.

Outreach

Demonstrate sportsmanship and teamwork. Reach out to fellow student-athletes to ensure their experience is positive.

Achievement

Put forth the best possible effort in academics and athletics, maintaining focus on personal and team goals.

Resilience

Do not give up when situations are challenging. Push yourself to bounce back stronger than you were before.
